You may have noticed a lot of pompom action on my blog recently – well this is the reason!! My latest book Pompomania is out now (and on Amazon for only £6.94 right now)
It’s full of lovely projects that I had great fun making last summer. Every morning I’d wake up with some new idea of how an everyday object could be pompomified and I wouldn’t stop until I had worked out how to do it. Here are a few of my favourites shot by the wonderful Joanna Henderson
To celebrate the launch of the book I hosted a very special Pompom Party where we all made pompoms, ate sweets and drank gin (perfect pompom making conditions if you ask me). We had a fab night and it was lovely to make some more pompom converts – I am serious about taking over the world one pom pom at a time …
I held the Pompom Party at the Smashbox Cosmetics shop and studio in London. Their super cool mural by artist Donald Robertson was the perfect backdrop
There was a lot of concentrating (and cocktails) as first time pompomers gave it a go.
Daisy Knights (jeweller extraordinaire) perfects her poms – and how cute are these scissors by Korbond?
Everyone should have this sort of flash when taking selfies!!
My new pompom converts …
A massive thanks to everyone who helped me make this party the best Pompom party ever:
Stylecraft – for providing the yarn (their special DK is the best for making pompoms. Such bright colours and so so soft)
Loveknitting.com – for all their support and goodie bags. It’s the perfect place to by your Stylecraft yarn
Smashbox Cosmetics – for hosting the pompom party (thanks to them I am finally someone who has an organised makeup bag and routine -Their Always Sharp 3D Eyeliners are the best ever)
Korbond Care and Repair – I discovered their small general purpose scissors on about my 40th pompom experiment – they are just the right shape and size for perfect pom trimming. Available here
TalkingTables Partywear – A combination of Smashboxes amazing Ring Flash Lights and Talking Tables Glitterati gold foil curtain meant ALOT of selfie taking!
WIN WIN WIN!!

*Ideally for me!
A couple of weeks ago I showed you the fabric design I did for the Print Me Pretty competition. It was this cute repeat pattern of some snow and snow drops, it was my first attempt at designing fabric and I’m really excited at the thought of seeing my own illustrations printed on fabric. There’s been six other entries in the comp and it’d be lovely if you guys cold pop over to their facebook page and ‘like’ my design …. it’s the pattern with the most votes wins!
To vote click on the image below which will take you to their Facebook page. There you can see all the designs by clicking on ‘see all’ in the ‘Recent posts by others’ box. (on the right hand side in the stupid new Facebook layout) Then ‘like’ the design(s) you like. Voting closes at midnight GMT on March 19th.
